Please follow these instructions carefully.
For a few days the colour intensity of your tattoo will be brighter/darker than the expected final outcome.
Purchase a single bar of Dove unscented soap (London Drugs sells single bars in the travel section). Carefully cut this bar in half, it is to be used by you alone for cleansing your tattoo. Save the unused portion for cleansing following your touch up appointment.
The morning after the procedure:
1. Remove your dressing(s) prior to showering.
2. Work up a lather with your hands to gently wash the tattooed area (do not use a washcloth), rinse passively allowing water to run down over your shoulder. Do not put your tattooed breast(s) directly in the shower stream.
3. Pat dry with a clean towel, or air dry.
Repeat the shower process on the 2nd and 3rd morning post tattoo. After the 4th day you may shower normally.
Apply a tiny amount of unscented gentle moisturizer or A&D Ointment only if your tattoo area becomes uncomfortably dry.
If you have had radiation or chemotherapy, the area may feel bruised and be red for the first few days.
Avoid heavy work outs or excessively sweaty exercise for the first 4 - 5 days.
Avoid swimming, soaking and steam baths for the first 2 weeks.
Do not pick, peel, rub or scratch any crust or scab on the tattoo area.
Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.
If you are planning to have laser treatments, ask the technician to avoid pigmented areas.
Depending on the thickness of your skin, your tattoo may fade with time; therefore, you may require a touch up every few years.
